I hope to learn everthing from the Learning 2.0 program!
Thats a huge statement I know but I have everything to gain and nothing to loose as this is my maiden voyage into "BLOGdom". And so, for me, I will be learning everything I know during this, my first adventure.
Some terms are familar such as: engaged learning, ettiquit, guidelines, lifelong learning, privacy policy, etc, BUT what an exciting way to see, learn, and participate than joining in the blogosphere itself.
This exercise so far has been very trying to say the least, as I had no idea that there are two levels to this blog (the one I edit in and the one the public see! Wow now perhaps I might get somewhere - I hope). So you see now there are many things that are not familar.
This is a world wide education, a many facet education with hundreds of possibilities, so for me that makes it the best way to learn even though as an older person I am struggling with some of the terminology that is used and also the methods to get the info. I'm more comfortable with a book that I can write down a page no. or underline a passage, but wait, I have a computer that does all that for me, but wait theres more, there are people who converse with me to let me know how things are, but wait theres more, each step is there for me to follow and many ideas are given that support me as I learn.
I have seen so many blogs. I find it easier to look at than to do. I like that the info is right there in your face. That your personality can be displayed with your unique look at the subject in how you choose to set it up. It is easy to follow when reading and it starts at the last post and goes backward so that the latest info is what you get.
There are many uses for blogs in the Library. This would be a good easy tool to introduce mature aged into the computer scene in a fun way. A blog to reach teens introducing books, cds, music discs, homework help, etc. Or more to the point how and where they can go about it in a fun way that allows them to reach us from their homes.
I already feel like I am blogging for a client audience. YOU.
Some things are scary and I find should I dare to go there?, or is this the right way?,and when I have explored I feel like I imagine the Armstrong felt when he walked on the moon! Wow this is great.
I'm a well known Lifelong Learner and I like to give anything a go. It seems to me that anyone who uses computers are all Lifelong Learning as technology advances quickly and constantly. I never expected to be blogging in my wildest dreams but I'm ready and waiting to take the helm so that YOU can steer me through the rough waters. All of life is a journey this is just another stage of my journey. I'm an old dog that can learn new tricks.
Sothern Tablelands History Matters is a blog that I enjoyed, I found it easy to access. The format flowed and was orderly. I got lost in looking at blogs actually and the layers of information that the blog involved and indullged and allowed me to wallow in.
I think a good blog for here would be aimed at High School Students, Young & Busy Working Parents, and a very non threatening blog for the mature in age but young at heart. The possibilites are endless. The
